Reliable pack protection without much fuss

Our Verdict
The Pack Jacket feels aimed at backpackers who want simple external weather protection without adding much weight. At 84g, it packs small, while the security strap helps keep the cover more stable in the wind than loose elastic-only designs. I also like the drainage opening underneath, which helps stop water from pooling inside the cover during prolonged rain.
The fit works best with Gossamer Gear’s own packs, so compatibility with other shapes is less certain. Like any raincover, I would still pair it with a liner or dry bags for important kit. Best suited to lightweight backpacking and long-distance walking.
