Our Verdict
The Fjällräven Övik G-1000 Shirt LS weighs 314g (Medium) and uses G-1000 Air Stretch, giving it a tougher feel than a lightweight synthetic hiking shirt without making it overly stiff.
I like the relaxed cut, box pleat and forward-set shoulder seams, which give it plenty of movement and make sense under a rucksack.
The two chest pockets keep the design traditional, and it has plenty of classic Fjällräven styling, with durability to match. The fabric adds good abrasion resistance, useful wind protection and the option to add Greenland Wax for a little more weather resistance.
It is not a high-output summer shirt, but its blend of everyday style, comfort and durability is exactly where the appeal lies.
