Our Verdict
At 130g, the Montbell O.D. Carbon Umbrella 60 gives a lot of coverage for very little weight. The 105cm open diameter is the main appeal, offering useful shelter from steady rain while also helping keep water off your face and the top of your pack. The carbon ribs and 10-denier canopy keep the weight low, while the 73cm packed length makes it easy to carry in a pack side pocket. It is not a storm umbrella, and it will need care in strong winds, but it makes sense for walkers and backpackers wanting quick rain cover in calmer conditions.
