But hard labor is no match for their soft, snug fit. Sure, they'll crush trails like a pound of dynamite, but with details like breathable cushioning and low-profile, slouch-free 1x1 ribbing, the only grunt you'll make is when the wildlife tries to steal these socks.
Our Verdict
The Darn Tough Northwoods Micro Crew Midweight Socks have a snug, supportive fit that keeps them securely in place without bunching inside footwear. The smooth toe construction helps reduce irritation, while the cushioning underfoot adds comfort on longer walks without making them feel excessively bulky.
The 58% merino wool blend handles moisture and odour well. Padding around the ankle and Achilles also adds useful protection against firmer boot collars.
