Occupying a unique place in our summer rock collection, the Arrow Jacket is an adaptable, lightweight layer for days in the mountains or sessions on rock. With a lofted inner face, wind-resistant double-weave outer and a protective hood, it’s more comfortable and wearable than a softshell and more protective than a lightweight fleece.
The highly wicking inner moves moisture away from the body during long climbs or difficult pitches while providing valuable warmth on exposed ground or at a shaded belay stance. A trim Active fit, designed for mountain use, eliminates excess material and sits neatly under a harness. At the same time, a stretchy, unrestrictive feel allows for complete freedom of movement, whether coiling ropes, shouldering packs or pulling crux moves. Two zipped hand pockets and a zipped chest pocket keep essentials close to hand and a full centre zip allows for fast layering and heat management on the move. Our adjustable Mountain Hood protects high mountain routes and wind-battered sea cliffs.

Our Verdict
At 343g (Medium), the Arrow Hooded Jacket sits somewhere between a light fleece and a softshell. The double-weave fabric adds useful wind resistance, while the lofted inner face gives a little warmth and helps move moisture when you are working hard.
I like it most as a layer you can keep on for longer periods, especially when conditions are changeable but not bad enough for a waterproof. The full zip makes temperature control simple, and the hood adds welcome protection on exposed ground or breezy belays. The trim fit keeps bulk down under a pack or harness, though it will not be the best match if you prefer a relaxed cut.
Storage is more practical than minimal, with two zipped hand pockets and a chest pocket. It works best for climbing, scrambling and cool, active hill days.
