Our Verdict
At 122g (Medium), the Aerofoil Hooded Jacket is a very light wind layer for fast-moving mountain days. The EXOLITE 45 fabric gives useful wind resistance and a little stretch, so it feels more comfortable on the move.
I like it most for breezy ridges, fast hiking and scrambling where a waterproof would feel too hot. The full zip, elasticated cuffs and hem drawcord make temperature and fit easy to manage, while the articulated sleeves help movement with poles or when scrambling.
The single zipped chest pocket keeps storage minimal, and it packs into its own pocket with karabiner loops, which is always a nice touch. The light fabric needs care around rough rock, but it works well for mostly dry, windy hill days.
