The new Molfar Pro poncho from the Ukrainian brand Turbat is designed to protect travelers when traveling in bad weather. If the previous version of the Molfar could be used as a raincoat, the Molfar Pro is a poncho jacket and has a different design. Poncho reliably protects your backpack and the greater half of the body and, at the same time, does not interfere with walking. It has long sleeves with ventilation to prevent overheating during a summer rain. There are special holes in the front for the waist straps of the backpack to prevent the wind from stealing the Molfar Pro. It can be used both in long trekkings and in short journeys through the mountains.

Weighing a mere 372g, the Molfar Pro is a lightweight addition to your pack, serving as a brilliant "in case of emergency" product that protects you and your gear from sudden downpours.
This poncho stands out with its thoughtful design features that enhance usability. The front of the garment features two cleverly positioned pockets. These allow easy access to your trouser pockets and serve a dual purpose - they can accommodate your rucksack waist belt. By threading the strap through these openings, you can cinch the poncho closer to your body, significantly reducing unwanted flapping in windy conditions.
Another dual-purpose feature is the poncho's "pit-zips"—strategically placed ventilation openings under the arms. These serve two essential functions: first, they allow you to quickly release excess heat, preventing overheating during strenuous hikes or in warmer conditions. Second, these openings cleverly double access points to your backpack's water bottle pockets. This thoughtful design ensures you can stay hydrated and access your pack even with the poncho.
Despite these ventilation features, you will likely run hot with the poncho, even with the pit zips open. The material is very durable but not breathable, so if you wear it for a prolonged period, it will inevitably become sweaty.
The hood design has one minor drawback: only a single adjustment point around the face. An additional adjustment around the crown would have been a welcome improvement for a more customisable fit.
