The Mirage is a warm down jacket that uses 160g of quality 900 fill power down. With box wall construction and high quality down this is an impressive insulated jacket.

Our Verdict
Montbell's Mirage Down Parka is a brilliant jacket that is extremely light and easy to wear. It is every bit as warm as you'd expect from a jacket with 900 fill power down in it. The combination of 160g of 900 FP down and box wall construction are excellent indicators of outstanding quality and performance. The use of 7D fabric for the outer helps keep the weight below 400g and allowing it to compress down really well.
It fits really nicely, though the size is perhaps a little on the smaller size compared to some brands but it doesn't compromise on length, and although the appearance looks quite chunky, it fits snugly. The hood has side adjusters to pull it down, yet keeping the wired top section of the hood flat, this combined with a velcro tab on the back of the hood makes for a very adaptable fit. Perfect for cold dry weather.

We change down sourcing companies frequently to insure that our customers have access to superior products at the lowest price possible. In the course of these efforts, Montbell never purchases down from operations that practice “live-plucking” methods. We only utilize down plumes and feathers collected as a by-product of water fowl raised to meet the demands of the food industry.
