Full-spectrum glacier protection with a touch of refinement — ideal for high light, high glare, and high miles
Julbo says:
The Julbo MILLENIUM is an effortless blend of high mountain protection, robust construction and progressive design codes. The removable leather side shields offer long-lasting efficient shelter from intense sunlight and extreme conditions, even on the highest summits. The thin, lightweight temples are designed to feel comfortable all day, with integrated anti-slip pads to keep your shades in one place even when you don’t.
Our Verdict
The Julbo Millennium Reactiv 2-4 Polarised sunglasses deliver serious mountain-ready optics in a sleek, pared-down frame. At 29g, they’re light enough for extended wear, and the curved, grippy temples keep them secure without digging in, even during more active movement. The standout, though, is the Reactiv lens: photochromic from category 2 to 4, it covers a wide VLT range (5–20%) and adapts quickly as light shifts. I found the polarisation especially helpful for long snow days — glare was significantly reduced, which helped prevent eye strain on open slopes and ice crossings.
The removable leather side shields are a nice nod to traditional alpine eyewear and do their job well when the sun’s bouncing in from every angle. Venting is subtle but effective, and I’ve had no issues with fogging even on steep climbs. As expected, the lenses don’t adjust behind UV-blocking glass, but that’s part of the trade-off for this level of sun protection.
