Our Verdict
The Stance Mid Wool Crew Socks are designed for the serious hiker. They strike the perfect balance between comfort, durability, and performance.
The mid-weight cushioning provides ample support, especially in the heel and footbed, where impact protection is crucial. The Merino wool blend offers excellent climate control. Thanks to the FreshTek moisture-wicking treatment, my feet stayed dry even during intense climbs. This feature, combined with the antimicrobial finish, kept any potential odours at bay—a real blessing on longer hikes.
The stay-put fit was also good—not too tight but secure enough that the socks didn’t bunch up or slip down. The engineered ankle protection and channelled air cushioning also contributed to the construction's overall feel of luxury and care.
At 61g for the medium size, these socks offer a good balance of weight without compromising on cushioning or durability.
