Light, fast and remarkably compact

This compact stove folds down into a tiny package of 62mm x 46mm that can easily fit into almost any pack pocket. Unfold and screw on this stove onto a gas canister and you can have a lightweight stove up and running in a matter of minutes. The narrow high-speed flame is wind resistant and provides a 2600 W flame that can boil a liter of water in under 4 minutes. This sit-on-top stove can be used with a variety of pot sizes so you can feed yourself or the group as the adventure demands.
Easily break down your backcountry cooking solution by simply removing the burner, folding and stowing it the nylon storage bag (included).
Our Verdict
You’d be forgiven for seeing the name Micron III Piezo Stove and assuming piezo ignition is built in, but it isn’t. The igniter is separate, and while it works well, it’s not part of the stove itself. The stove folds down small enough to nest inside a compact pot, with room left for a gas canister. Despite the low weight, it feels reassuringly solid in use. The pot supports are stable for their size, and the oversized valve is easy to handle, even with gloves.
Boil times are quick, around two and a half minutes for 500ml in calm air, and the focused flame works well with narrow pots. It does benefit from a bit of shelter in breezy conditions, but that’s no surprise at this size. There’s no integrated ignition, which keeps the design clean. The included striker is reliable, though a lighter and matches may appeal to those who prefer simpler spares.
