This might just be my favourite trekking shirt—a brilliant blend of a sun hoodie, a lightweight shirt, and a technical base layer.
Turbat says:
A men's shirt which we invented especially for summer hikes, long trekking in the sun and heat. In it, we have combined the advantages of a light trekking loose shirt and thin thermal fabric in places that require active moisture removal.
Thanks to the hood and UPF50+ material, the shirt reliably protects from the sun. In the Maya Hood Trek, it is convenient to walk for a long time with a large trekking backpack. If you are fond of long-sleeved t-shirts or thin thermal clothing on a hike, this shirt will become one of your favorites.
This is a shirt that is adapted for long hikes in the summer. It has everything to get you home happy: lightweight, stretchy material, UV protection, hood and long sleeves.
Purpose: hiking in the summer, long trekking, rafting, kayaking, camping in the summer.
Our Verdict
The Turbat Maya Hood Trek Shirt combines a clever mix of fabrics and features, making it ideal for long summer days on the go. At 205g (size M), it’s light enough to stay breathable but built with enough thought to handle proper trekking. The stretch panels across the back and sleeves do a great job managing sweat without clinging, while the looser cut allows airflow where you need it. The hood is roomy but not floppy, with a subtle button that fastens it in place when things get breezy. I especially like the ¼-length button opening, which provides welcome ventilation on climbs, and the thumb loops and chest pocket add those little touches that make a big difference on long days. The UPF 50+ fabric provides dependable sun protection, and the longer sleeves and high neck keep coverage where it counts.
It’s a thoughtful bit of kit—functional without being overbuilt—and one I keep reaching for whether I’m packing light or just looking to stay protected in hot, dry conditions. I think it belongs on everyone’s kit list; it's that versatile and dependable.
