Our Verdict
Soft, breathable and wind-resistant, the Madris Light ML is a highly usable midlayer that bridges the gap between fleece and softshell. At 337g for a medium, it has the feel of a traditional fleece but with added structure and protection thanks to the Stormfleece fabric. The waffle interior strikes a balance between warmth and airflow, and the elastane content provides sufficient stretch for scrambling or layered wear. I like the flat seams, the absence of rubbing under straps, and the helmet-compatible hood, which is low-profile enough not to get in the way when not in use.
