Among our lighter fleece layers, the Lumiko offers breathability, fast drying performance and an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. Light and packable, it can be worn as a base layer for long winter walk-ins or as a light mid-layer on summer scrambles.
Made from 93% recycled materials, the performance stretch fleece is soft and highly wicking, while the ribbed construction reduces weight and bulk without compromising on warmth. Coverstitched seams ensure prolonged next-to-skin comfort, even under a pack or harness or after building up a sweat.
The slim, Active fit and low-profile cuffs are designed to reduce bulk and layer well, while excellent stretch means you can navigate complex ground without restriction. The deep centre front zip lets you dump heat when working hard or quickly zip up as shadows lengthen. A zipped chest pocket secures essentials, such as snacks or a phone.
Our Verdict
At 199g (Medium), the Lumiko Zip-T gives light fleece warmth without adding much bulk. The brushed-back fabric provides useful warmth for its weight, while still breathing well and drying quickly when you are working hard.
I like the deep front zip, as it gives plenty of temperature control on climbs, without needing to remove the layer. The slim Active fit keeps bulk down when worn under a shell or pack, and the stretch fabric helps it move well rather than feel restrictive. It is close-fitting, so it will not be the best choice if you prefer a more relaxed fleece.
Storage is minimal, with just one zipped chest pocket, but that suits the low-bulk design. It works best as a light midlayer for climbing, scrambling and active three-season hill use.
