Our Verdict
The LT5 Three Piece trekking poles are remarkably lightweight and comfortable, making them ideal for various trekking endeavours. Constructed with sturdy yet lightweight carbon fibre, these poles offer exceptional durability while minimising weight. The EVA foam handles provide superior comfort and functionality, featuring a soft and yielding texture that prevents sweating during prolonged use. The adjustable wrist strap is also thoughtfully designed, ensuring a secure and customisable grip without requiring frequent adjustments, enhancing the trekking experience.
Utilising a twist-lock mechanism, the LT5 Three Piece poles maintain their low weight while offering effective locking capabilities. While initially requiring some getting used to for users accustomed to lever-lock poles. The twist-lock mechanism functions well, but I still prefer the security of a lever-lock. To ensure the longevity of the poles, it is recommended to clean them after use, keeping the lock free from detritus and maintaining its effectiveness.
The poles feature an impressive maximum height of 130 centimetres and a collapsed length of 60 centimetres, allowing for convenient attachment to most backpacks.
