Stay dry and comfortable on wet-weather hikes with the Mammut Linard Guide HS Hooded Jacket, a lightweight, eco-friendly hardshell designed for serious adventurers.

Mammut says:

Expecting wind and weather on your hike? This waterproof hardshell jacket provides protection from the outside while enabling unrestricted performance thanks to the breathable 3-layer Mammut DRY Tour laminate. Its soft, stretchy material is not only comfortable to wear but is also made of 100% polyester, which greatly simplifies the recycling process at the end of the jacket's life. With an adjustable hood with reinforced visor, two front pockets and ventilation zippers under the arms, the Linard Guide HS Hooded Jacket has all the features you need for dry adventures in the wet outdoors

Our Verdict

The Mammut Linard Guide HS Hooded Jacket is a reliable companion for those who refuse to let poor weather spoil their outdoor adventures. This jacket strikes an excellent balance between protection and comfort, making it a solid choice for demanding hikes where the elements are less than forgiving.

Weighing in at 494g for a medium size, the jacket is impressively lightweight for a hardshell. The 3-layer Mammut DRY Tour laminate is breathable yet waterproof, boasting a 20,000 mm water column. This makes it ideal for long treks in wet conditions. The PFC-free DWR treatment adds a layer of water resistance without compromising the jacket's eco-friendliness, a welcome touch for the environmentally conscious hiker.

Comfort hasn’t been overlooked, either. The stretchable material allows unrestricted movement, which is essential when scrambling over rocky terrain or navigating tricky trails. The pre-shaped sleeves and adjustable hem ensure a tailored fit, while the underarm zips provide excellent ventilation, helping to regulate your temperature during intense activity.

The hood only has one point of adjustment around the crown; for a dedicated rain jacket like this, I would like one around the face.

The well-thought-out water-repellent front zip and side pockets keep your essentials dry and accessible, even in heavy rain.
