Our Verdict
Hard-working, hard-wearing waterproof protection for alpinists and mountaineers. A very packable 2.5 layer Gore-Tex Paclite gives a HH of 28000mm; the jacket is also very breathable, aided by the jackets pit zips, which aren’t very large, nowhere near as large as say, the Rab firewall jacket, but they still aid in venting heat when you are working hard.
This jacket has a helmet-compatible hood, which, as you would expect, has three points of adjustment, two around the face and one around the crown of the head; you get an excellent secure fit, even if you aren’t using a helmet.
The jacket only has one pocket, a Napoleon chest pocket, which works well if you use a harness, but I always like somewhere to warm my hands.
