Our Verdict
The L/S Capilene Cool Daily Shirt feels well judged as a lightweight layer for mixed conditions. The smooth polyester fabric handles sweat efficiently, dries quickly and stays comfortable under a pack without becoming overly clingy or heavy when damp. At 120g (Medium), it adds useful coverage without much extra warmth, making it easy to wear across a broad range of temperatures.
The regular fit also strikes a nice balance, loose enough for airflow but still neat under additional layers. The odour control is reasonable for a synthetic layer, though not quite at merino levels over repeated wear. For hillwalking and travel, it is a very dependable long-sleeved baselayer.
