Our Verdict
The Montane Icarus Lite is a lightweight, versatile, insulated jacket designed for active mountain pursuits. It is filled with 100% recycled PrimaLoft insulation, providing impressive warmth for its minimal weight and packability.
The Thermostretch side panels and articulated fit allow excellent freedom of movement during activities like climbing and trekking. The adjustable hem and insulated hood with stretch-bound opening help seal in warmth.
The full-length front zipper, storm flap, and elasticised cuffs enhance weather protection. The recycled Barrier RS Eco shell cuts wind well despite being so thin.
While not intended for extreme cold, the Icarus Lite is a highly efficient mid-layer or outer layer in excellent to moderately cold and dry conditions. It strikes a nice balance of warmth, low bulk, and active insulation performance.
