A head net from the creators of the famous insect repellent.
Smidge says:
Lightweight head net with a super-fine mesh to keep the smallest of biting insects out. For anyone with a head for adventure, it's an essential bit of kit.
Our Verdict
Smidge insect repellent, which you can find in a new travel bottle here, is a Scottish staple for me in the months between late May right through till the end of September. So, I was pleased to see the guys behind the leading insect repellent have also released a small packable head-net, that offers more protection for when there’s no shifting the wee blighters.
Of course, midges can inhabit any warm spot close to the water, so it’s good to have this net on you in any of the warmer months, regardless of where you are. It packs down so small it’s perfect to stash in the top of your rucksack and forget about till the time is needed, and as its only 37g it’s not exactly going to weigh you down.
