A neat upgrade for Fire Maple stove users who care about coffee
Fire Maple says:
Brew in the pot you already carry.
Turn the 750ml Petrel G2 pot into a French press without packing a separate brewer. The reusable mesh assembly works with the original G2 lid, then packs down to 1.3 inches thick inside the included storage bag.
Our Verdict
The French Press Coffee Filter turns your existing Fire Maplestove setup into a compact cafetière.
At 50g, it feels like a worthwhile addition for anyone who values proper coffee in camp. I also like that it packs flat inside the pot and produces a fuller brew than lightweight drip filters.
Cleaning can be a little annoying, but for slower mornings and campsite brewing, it adds a surprising amount of comfort for very little extra kit.

Features
- Fits the G2 Pot: the 4.6-inch filter is sized specifically for the Petrel G2 750ml pot and is not interchangeable with the G3 version.
- Brew in One Vessel: heat water, steep the coffee, and press it in the pot
- Filter Without Paper: the reusable stainless-steel mesh holds back most coarse coffee grounds without disposable paper filters.
- Pack to 1.3 Inches: the assembly packs into a 4.6 × 4.6 × 1.3 in form and stores in the included cloth bag.
- Use the Original Lid: the press assembly works with your existing Petrel G2 lid, so a second brewing lid is not included.
