Our Verdict
The Fire Maple FMS-105 Stove offers a sturdy, low-centre-of-gravity design perfect for camp cooking enthusiasts who prioritise stability. As a fan of remote stoves, I appreciate this model’s design, which places the fuel source away from the flame. This setup keeps the centre of gravity low and allows you to safely turn off the gas if a pan starts to boil over—a significant advantage over canister-top stoves.
With a wide pot stand, the FMS-105 comfortably supports larger pots, making it ideal for cooking more elaborate meals on the trail. This stove offers a powerful 3kW output, reaching a litre of boiling water in about 3.5 minutes while maintaining fuel efficiency. The built-in piezoelectric ignitor provides reliable, spark-free lighting, especially useful in windy or damp conditions. The flame control valve also allows easy adjustment, providing simmering and rapid boiling versatility.
