Simple, instant comfort.
Exped says:
The Flex Sit Pad is an ultra-light, quick-to-use and comfortable seat pad made from closed-cell foam. The ideal companion for hiking, bikepacking, paddling or ski touring.
Thanks to the flat 3-piece design, it fits easily into the side pockets of rucksacks, bike bags or glove compartments. It insulates reliably against the cold and wet and keeps you warm and dry when sitting on snow, wet grass, stones or park benches.
Our Verdict
The Flex Sit Pad is one of those small bits of kit that ends up getting used constantly. At 44g, it slips easily into a side pocket and gives just enough insulation to make wet grass, cold rocks, benches or bothy floors more comfortable during short stops. The folding design packs more neatly than a flat foam square and deploys instantly. This thing is indestructible, so no need to worry about puncturing it. You can be rough with it.
Comfort is basic rather than luxurious, but that simplicity is part of the appeal. Best suited to backpackers and bikepackers wanting a quick, reliable barrier between themselves and cold or damp ground.
