Our Verdict
These are very quick and easy to attach to any shoe, they are best used on winter treks, when ice and snow are underfoot on well-trodden paths. I used these last year when hiking up Snowden in January, and they were a game changer. They stop you from slipping on ice and give you added grip on snow, which not only gives you a better feeling of security, but also makes walking easier. These are not to be used in place of “real” crampons, which should be used for technical mountaineering routes, but instead, for hill walking in the snow, I would also always advise using hiking poles in any conditions you need to use the Nortec Fast Micro Crampons, especially on descents.
