UOG TOP PICK - Montbell EX Light Down Anorak - Not quite the 1000+ Fill Power Down used in some other Montbell jackets but 900+ is extremely high quality and the EX Light Down Anorak doesn't have the same price tag. Montbell achieve a very low overall weight of jacket even though all the features are present and there's 85grams of down in it.
The Montbell EX Light series never fails to deliver and the Down Anroak is a continuation of that excellent form.

Our Verdict
Montbell's EX Light Down Anorak is a premium quality down piece. The thought that has went into the baffle placement, down quality selection and the materials used in the construction jacket is second to none.
The 900 fill power down provides so much warmth while remaining lightweight and packable. While the 1/2 length zip provides ventilation while you're working up a sweat.
The adjustable hood provides a secure fit underneath a shell without interfering with vision. The finishing touch is the double insulated through pocket that provides insulation on both sides, with the waist adjustment being tucked inside here as to keep it from getting tangled up on other straps such as the hip belt.

We change down sourcing companies frequently to insure that our customers have access to superior products at the lowest price possible. In the course of these efforts, Montbell never purchases down from operations that practice “live-plucking” methods. We only utilize down plumes and feathers collected as a by-product of water fowl raised to meet the demands of the food industry.
