Our Verdict
The Escapist Handlebar Bag feels like a well-engineered answer to front-loading bikepacking. Thanks to the purge patch and roll-closure, the dry bag and holster system are easy to load and compress, and once strapped down, I found it impressively stable even over rough ground. The aluminium reinforcement helps keep sway to a minimum, and I appreciated the extra stem and headtube straps for added security.
At 593g, it’s not the lightest, but the materials and build quality justify the weight. Glove-friendly buckles and reflective elements are a nice touch for longer days, and the mounting system worked well on my flat bars, though I’d like to see more fine-tuning for a tighter fit on drop bars.
