The Electron Pro Vest comes into its own whenever rapid insulation is required. The lightweight outer shell is built from Pertex Quantum Pro ripstop nylon with a DWR coating for increased weather resistance. It also uses zoned midi and micro baffle stitch-through construction to control down migration, eliminate cold spots and deliver outstanding warmth without unnecessary bulk. Mountain-ready features include a pair of harness-friendly zipped hand pockets, a zipped internal security pocket and a double-ended full-length YKK Natulon zip for comfortable belaying. Additional everyday features include an insulated collar, comfortable elasticated armholes and an adjustable hem. With 20D fabrics, ethically-sourced 800FP RDS-certified European goose down and a weight of just 392g, the new Electron Pro Vest packs compact for advanced core warmth exactly when you need it.

Our Verdict
Rab's Electron Pro Down Vest packs a lot of warmth into a small pack size. The everyday usability of this jacket is the biggest appeal in my opinion.
The Jacket has all the technical features to make it a great insulation layer while belaying or undertaking activities in cold environments while still maintaining a stylish look. The Vest is just as at home on the mountains as it is on the high street.
The inner chest pocket is large enough for any smartphone or handheld GPS to be easily accommodated. The soft fleece lined collar also prevents any cold draughts around the neck area when the temperature plummets. Another great feature is the adjustable waist toggles, these can be pulled in when you are not wearing as many layers when the temperatures are milder or you're wearing it with a shirt underneath.
