Our Verdict
I’m a big fan of this jacket as an active midlayer. Warm and incredibly breathable, it balances protection and comfort for high-output use in cold conditions. At 289g (Medium), it feels light but substantial enough for exposed mountain ridges. The combination of Polartec Alpha Direct insulation and body-mapped Power Stretch Pro panels delivers excellent moisture control during sustained movement.
The Power Stretch material on the hood does a good job of blocking wind, which I appreciate in changeable conditions, and its use on the inside cuffs helps protect the high-wear areas that could otherwise damage the Alpha fleece. The fit is athletic and articulated for climbing or layering under a shell, a thoughtful, high-performing piece for technical ascents or winter layering.
