Our Verdict
The BioLite Dash 450 Headlamp feels purpose-built for runners and fast hikers who prioritise stability over maximum output. At 82g, the slim design sits close to the head, helping minimise bounce and making it noticeably less intrusive than many headtorches.
The combination of spot and flood beams is well judged. The focused beam provides enough reach to move confidently after dark, while the flood mode offers broader illumination for camp tasks and close-range navigation. I also like the articulating bezel, which makes it easy to direct the light exactly where it is needed.
The rear red light and reflective detailing are thoughtful additions for anyone spending time around roads. The integrated battery does mean carrying a power bank for longer trips.
For trail running, fast hiking and evening training sessions, this is a comfortable and highly wearable headlamp.
