A proper bed for camp, not just a place to sleep.
Helinox says:
Our best-selling Cot One Convertible keeps you perfectly rested and fully supported with an innovative lever-locking system. Through advanced engineering, this patented design eradicates sagging–it’s the best, most solid night’s sleep you can have outdoors while keeping you off the cold, hard ground. A longer cot option is also available.
Our Verdict
The Helinox Cot One Convertible Regular prioritises comfort. The tensioned sleeping surface remains taut throughout the night, creating a flatter and more supportive platform. Side sleepers in particular seem to appreciate the reduction in pressure points.
The DAC aluminium frame feels reassuringly stable once assembled, with very little movement when changing position. The elevated design also improves airflow in warmer conditions and keeps you clear of uneven ground. At 2145g, it is unlikely to appeal to weight-conscious backpackers, but that feels entirely in keeping with its purpose.
Assembly can be a little tight at first, although the tension is part of what gives the cot its supportive feel. For base camps, canoe trips, bikepacking and vehicle-supported camping, this remains one of the most comfortable lightweight cots available.
One thing I would be mindful of is using it inside ultralight shelters. The feet spread the load well, but they still create concentrated pressure points, so I would be cautious on very lightweight tent floors and consider an additional groundsheet for protection.
