Our Verdict
At 2532g, it’s clearly not built for hiking packs, but it's a standout for van setups or base camps. The 10cm thickness makes uneven surfaces disappear beneath you, and with an R-value of 6.5, I found it reliably warm even in chilly conditions. The stretch-knit top fabric adds a soft, home-like feel that I appreciated when sleeping directly on it without a sheet or liner.
The updated valve design makes inflating and deflating refreshingly straightforward—I didn’t have to fight with trapped air to get it rolled away. The packed size is still sizeable, so I’d want to factor in storage space if using it in a smaller van or tent, but for static use, it’s a trade-off I’d happily make for the comfort gain.
I liked the added touches, like the PillowLock system keeping a pillow in place throughout the night. Details like this round out the experience, especially for longer stays.
If you’re looking for a sleeping mat that brings genuine bed-like comfort to your van or base camp without the hassle of an airbed, this one’s worth a look.

ASTM R-Value:
From 2020, there is a new industry standard for measuring the R-value (level of insulation) of sleeping mats – ASTM F3340-18. This new standard is the sleeping mat equivalent to the EN rating for sleeping bags.
You can now directly compare the R-value of mats rated using the ASTM F3340-18 with confidence that is a fair and accurate comparison between mats. In simple terms, the higher the R-value, the warmer the mat.
In general terms, an R-value below 2.0 is for summer use, 2.0 to 4.0 is for cooler 3 season use and 4.0+ is for winter temperatures.
