Our Verdict
I admit I had to do a double-take when I got my hands on this filter; I had to ask my boss if I had this right, a collapsible water filter that can filter viruses. This product is potentially game-changing. It’s also incredibly reasonably priced, half that of most other brands.
Filling the water bottle is simple, thanks to the large 42mm mouth, then simply attach the filter and drink straight from the water bottle. The malleable bottle easily squeezes into a side packet and, when not in use, packs down incredibly small.
The 42mm thread will fit on the CNOC bladers and bottles, so you can process more than the 500ml capacity of the Pure Clear water bottle if you wish.
Pure Clear suggests changing the filter every two months or 200L of water. Replacing the filter is incredibly easy, and each filter is reasonably priced. You do not back flush the filter! This may mean, on longer trips, you may have to carry an additional filter, which some people will be put off by.
