Our Verdict
The Outdoor Research Cirque Lite Pants are a versatile and durable choice for three-season alpine and rock adventures. Weighing just 408g for the medium size, they strike an excellent balance between toughness and flexibility thanks to the abrasion-resistant 90D stretch double-weave fabric. The built-in stretch and gusseted crotch allow for fantastic mobility on technical terrain. At the same time, the slim lower leg design with expandable gussets ensures a secure fit over boots or crampons.
The Cirque Lite Pants feature a wind- and water-resistant finish, ideal for variable mountain weather. The embedded adjustable waist belt and articulated knees provide a snug, tailored fit, while the DuraPrint scuff guards offer extra durability where needed most. Practical zip hand pockets and a thigh pocket provide useful storage without adding bulk, making these pants as functional as they are comfortable.
The “embedded” belt is a good feature offering a secure fit; however, it's worth noting that there are no external belt loops, so you don't have the option of using a preferred belt.
For ultralight mountaineers and climbers, the Cirque Lite Pants offer an excellent mix of protection, mobility, and durability for technical pursuits.
