Our Verdict
The Gossamer Gear Cima 15L Daypack weighs in at 505g and hits a sweet spot for anyone wanting simplicity without giving up good design. The new Riptide fabric and UHMWPE mesh feel durable enough to take some abuse, while the ventilated back panel keeps airflow moving when working hard. What stands out, though, are the cushioned shoulder straps — they’re genuinely comfortable over long distances and include two easy-to-reach pockets that are perfect for snacks, gels or a small bottle.
Storage is straightforward but smart. The internal sleeve doubles as a hydration reservoir or laptop pocket, and there’s a sunglasses pocket tucked under the top lid. I like the generous stretch mesh on the exterior and the multiple tie-on points for extra kit or compression. The trekking pole attachments and reflective detailing round things off nicely.
It would be fantastic for fast-and-light hill days, approach climbs or as a stripped-down summit pack from basecamp.
