Our Verdict
MSR's Ceramic 2.5L pot is a very large pot that can hold enough food for 2 to 4 people easily, if you are boiling water or making something like a bolognaise. As with the rest of the Ceramic family from MSR it uses the Talon handle which is one of my favourite things about the range. It can be snapped into position and be super solid when in use, be folded away when carrying it in your pack so you definitely won’t lose it, or you can fully detach it when you get back home to give everything a proper clean.
The lid has a silicone grabber so no more burnt finger tips when checking on your meal and the lid also has a knurl to keep it more securely attached either when walking or if you want to leave something to boil for a while. The inbuilt strainer is also super solid and easy to use without making too much mess.
This is a really strong ceramic coating, but you still need to be careful to not scratch it with metal knives or stoves when you're out in the wilderness using it. I would also not recommend washing it with a wire brush or other really abrasive cleaning materials. Luckily the non-stick qualities of the ceramic should negate the need to really use something so rough to actually clean the pot.
