Our Verdict
The Patagonia Caped Merganzer Hat centres on its adjustable cape, which you can wear three different ways. You can button it in front for full protection, clip it behind your neck to balance airflow and sun coverage, or just tuck it away entirely when you need maximum ventilation.
It weighs only 65g and stays secure even in the wind, thanks to the adjustable rear strap and chin cord. The recycled polyester fabric is quick-drying, and the internal sweatband effectively keeps moisture out of your eyes when you're working hard.
