Reliable coverage and clear vision for long days above the treeline.
Julbo says:
Letting your footsteps and eyes lead you, whether it's walking to Compostela, taking the legendary Stevenson Trail or trekking around Mont Blanc... Long distance trails offer freedom and slow pleasures, with the focus firmly on discovery and observation. Julbo has invented an essential, light and functional piece of kit for trekkers. With ultra wide coverage and protective REACTIV Photochromic or SPECTRON lenses, CAMINO M offers faultless protection so you can go all the way.
Our Verdict
The Julbo Camino Reactiv 2-4 sunglasses feel purpose-built for high trails, where the light shifts quickly and the glare doesn’t ease off. The Reactiv lenses transition smoothly from a relatively light tint to complete protection (VLT 7–35%), and I’ve found the contrast they deliver particularly helpful for picking out texture on snow or loose ground.
The removable side shields do a solid job of keeping out glare from the periphery, and although they don’t fold away, the design feels considered rather than cumbersome. Fogging hasn’t been an issue, even on steep climbs in still conditions. Like all photochromics, they’re not going to adapt behind UV-blocking windscreens, but out on the hill, they’ve proven themselves dependable.
