Pertex® Shield fabrics are durable, waterproof and highly breathable. They have been developed to provide lightweight and versatile protection from the elements.
PERTEX® SHIELD FABRICS PROVIDE LIGHTWEIGHT WATERPROOF PROTECTION WHILST REMAINING HIGHLY BREATHABLE.
Designed for intense mountain pursuits where weight and breathability are key, Pertex® Shield fabrics allow you to move fast and stay comfortable.
The versatile 2, 2.5 and 3-layer constructions combine lightweight face fabrics with waterproof, windproof and breathable membranes. A durable water repellent (DWR) finish applied to the face fabric sheds rain and snow, which helps to maintain breathability.

Our view on Pertex Shield:
Pertex Shield has been around for quite a while and is well respected. The standard Shield fabric is formulated in 2, 2.5 or 3 layer formats which means you can make very lightweight garments suitaable for just about everything from Trail Running to ultralight Backpacking.
