Our Verdict
At 249g per pole, the Black Diamond Trail Cork may not be the lightest in its class, but it makes up for that with thoughtful design and rugged reliability. The natural cork grips feel great in the hand, especially over long days, and mould subtly to your grip over time. The extended EVA lower grip is handy on steep terrain, and the straps are plush enough to avoid rubbing.
The FlickLock mechanism is classic Black Diamond: easy to adjust and rock solid once set.. The aluminium shafts are rigid and have held up well to rocky scrapes, while the carbide tips bite into everything from wet roots to loose scree.
