Our Verdict
The Berghaus MTN Guide MW Hoody weighs 391g (Medium) and uses body-mapped Polartec Power Grid, with warmer fabric through the torso and a more open construction under the arms to help shift heat and moisture.
The fleece feels properly designed around movement rather than simply adding warmth everywhere. The close-fitting hood works neatly under a helmet, while the raised hand pockets stay clear of a pack or harness.
The built-in Polartec Power Wool neck gaiter is a nice feature. It gives you extra coverage around the neck and face without carrying a separate buff, and you can fold it away when you do not need it.
