Our Verdict
The Basecamp Mono Cap combines an organic cotton front with open mesh panels across the back, giving it a more casual look while still keeping airflow high. At 87g, I think the mesh construction is the main strength, especially for warmer walks and climbs.
The CoolMax headband helps manage sweat while the stiffened peak gives useful shade. I also like the simple rear hook-and-loop adjustment, which makes it easy to fine-tune the fit.
