The Outdoor Research Astroman Sun Cape Cap offers practical protection for long days in full sun. At 73g (S/M), it feels light and unobtrusive. The 2.6-inch bill t dose a good job of keeping the sun out of your eyes, and the snap-on cape provides reliable coverage for the neck and ears.
The recycled nylon and spandex fabric has a soft, stretchy feel and dries quickly. Breathability is good for a cap with extended coverage, and airflow around the sides prevents it from feeling stifling. The crown cinch allows a secure fit, and once adjusted it stays put in gusty conditions.
Construction feels solid for such low weight. Stitching is neat, the snaps hold firmly, and the fabric retains its shape after being stuffed into a pocket.
