Our Verdict
Montane's Anti-Freeze Down Gilet, is a great choice for those who are looking for a reasonably priced vest that balances a good level of warmth with the 750 down fill, packability and weight without breaking the bank.
The fit of the Gilet is pretty generous and I was able to get a decent sized fleece underneath without feeling any restrictions, but may feel baggier with just a base-layer on. So will work well as a mid-layer for colder conditions in combination with other layers or as an outer layer with mid-layer underneath. It comes with two large front pockets and stuff sack to pack it down.
