Our Verdict
The diffused warm light of the AlpenGlow Mini feels far softer and more comfortable around camp than the harsher beam found on many compact lanterns or head torches
At 97g, it remains light enough for backpacking, and the integrated bungee attachment makes it easy to hang inside a shelter or from branches around camp. Runtime is respectable on lower settings, though the brighter modes drain the battery fairly quickly.
I could take or leave some of the colour modes, but the core warm-light performance is strong. It works best for backpackers and campers wanting comfortable ambient lighting rather than a purely functional torch replacement.
