Our Verdict
The Alp Light 2.5 combines a flexible silicone elastomer harness with stainless steel plates, chains and 13 spikes to give dependable purchase on hard snow and icy ground. The harness seats cleanly around hiking boots and trail shoes, holding position without warping the shoe. Build quality feels robust, with rust-resistant components that cope well with prolonged wet conditions. At 279g (Medium) and supplied with a ventilated case, they pack down easily. A good choice for anyone seeking a low-level crampon.
