Our Verdict
The Mammut Aenergy Mtn Mid GTX weighs 444g (UK 8) and delivers a secure, supportive feel on rocky ground. The cushioned midsole and Ortholite footbed provide lasting comfort, while the Vibram Megagrip outsole grips well in wet or dry conditions. The GORE-TEX lining keeps water out and manages moisture reasonably well for a waterproof boot, though it runs warm in humid weather. Fit is precise and the rocker sole encourages a smooth stride. Build quality is excellent, with abrasion-resistant mesh holding up well across repeated use.
