The Smartwool Active Mesh Hoodie stands out for its airflow, with mesh panels through the back and sleeves that help to vent heat and moisture. The merino blend sits soft against the skin and manages moisture well, staying comfortable even when damp. The fit is relaxed through the shoulders and chest, allowing for movement without excess bulk. The hood sits securely and adds light coverage in cooler air, though the open mesh areas can feel exposed in the wind. At 215g (Medium), it sits on the heavier side compared to other sun hoodies.
