Our Verdict
The Fjällräven Abisko Hike Lite 20 Rucksack feels like a modern take on the daypack. The running vest-inspired shoulder straps are the standout feature, providing easy access to water, snacks, and small essentials while helping the pack stay stable when moving quickly on the trail.
The pocket layout is equally well considered, with flask pockets on the shoulder straps, accessible external storage and enough capacity for waterproofs, insulation, food and a full day's kit.
At 619g (S/M), it isn't chasing ultralight credentials, but the balance of comfort, organisation and durability feels well judged. The detachable hip belt pocket is a nice detail. I suspect I'd get more use out of it on a larger trekking pack, but the ability to remove it entirely gives you the option.
For day hikes, fast-paced walking and hut-to-hut adventures, this is a highly practical and thoughtfully designed pack.
