The Mojave II Sun Hat is a solid pick for everything from lakeside camps and hill walks to a quiet afternoon in the garden. Weighing just over 100 grams, it’s light enough to wear all day without a second thought—until the sun’s glare reminds you why you packed it. The full cotton build is soft and durable, though not the most breathable in high-output situations, so I tend to reach for it on slower-paced days rather than anything too strenuous.
The brim offers generous coverage across the face and neck without flopping into my eyeline, and stitched eyelets provide just enough ventilation to keep things comfortable. The updated fit feels more dialled in than the last version, though I still had to cinch the chin cord to keep it secure in blustery conditions. It’s not built for rain, but for dry, sunny days it offers reliable protection without running hot.
