We have taken the ever popular Mountain Raid 233 and added a waterproof shell, to create the 233WP. We use the thicker Primaloft® Cross-Core GOLD insulation to expand the temperature range of the bag, constructed from a combination of materials to ensure maximum performance. The taped PointZeroH2O shell gives you a breathable and waterproof barrier, and Primaloft insulation warm when wet technology ensures you stay warm even if you get in your sleeping bag whilst wet.
Our Verdict
The OMM Waterproof Mountain Raid 233 is designed for minimalist trips where moisture protection and weight balance are key, particularly in warm-weather conditions or when bothy and refuge. At 598g, it combines PrimaLoft Cross-Core Eco Gold insulation with a waterproof, breathable PointZeroH2O shell. The insulation mapping places more fill over the top and less underneath, optimising warmth when used with a mat.
The mummy cut is close but comfortable, helping the bag warm quickly while conserving space. The half-length zip limits ventilation options but reduces potential heat loss, and the footbox shape maintains warmth effectively around the lower legs. The shell resists light rain and condensation well, while the synthetic fill retains loft if damp and dries rapidly. Build quality feels precise, though the ultralight fabrics require some care in handling. For Lightweight, fast-moving adventures such as mountain marathons and trail race setups, the Mountain Raid 233 offers a dependable, weather-resistant sleeping system with credible warmth and quick-drying performance in a compact, purposeful design.
